If you are a backpacker or someone who usually travels with a carry-on only and washes t-shirts in the hotel sink nightly - this post is not for you. It is for die-hard fashionistas who love to travel in style, bringing numerous outfits for every occasion. Usually, such people pack heavily and have several suitcases, which makes travel uncomfortable and annoying, especially if you need to visit multiple locations in one trip.
The truth is you can bring down the amount of luggage - and still keep your looks and fashionista ego. Here are five tips that will help:
Minimize shoes - they are usually the heaviest. Find a couple of versatile pairs that will go with most or all of your looks. Tip: don’t pack new shoes for trips where you will be walking a lot, even if they are perfect. You may end up with painful blisters and ruin the fun.
Minimize coats and heavy blazers. Find the one you love that goes with most of your looks.
Minimize bottoms such as jeans and pants. One pair of each would be perfect. Or two pairs of jeans if you live in them.
Bring one versatile day-to-night bag and one favorite perfume.
You can go heavy on tops, dresses, skirts, and accessories just make sure they are lightweight.
I hope that helps, and if you have tips you would like to share - please post them in the comments section.
